Dr. Chandon's Story

The chief thing that defines me is that my experience is diverse.  I have been a management consultant, corporate trainer, computer programmer, college and university adjunct faculty, Jesuit, racing quarter horse trainer, author, and sports hypnotist.  I think that diversity has taught me some very important and interesting lessons about life.  For example, as a Jesuit, I learned that the only thing that keeps anyone from perfect bliss at any moment is that they are focused on what they lack, not accepting the present moment for what it is.  There is no other moment than the current one, why not enjoy it for what it is? It sounds simple, doesn't it? However, it can make a profound difference in a person's satisfaction with life.

I have participated in as many sports as I have had time for, including football, baseball, track, hockey, tennis, karate, soccer, tennis, wrestling, racket ball, softball, and golf.  I took up golf after my graduate studies and have been passionate for the game ever since.  I have a single digit handicap and try to play as much as possible.  I love sports.  I believe sports and life go together.  Sports have helped me become a better person, teaching me some important life lessons.

I have a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s in behavioral science, a master’s in organizational development, and a doctorate in behavioral science.  For about twenty-five years, I have had a passion for understanding how the mind works.  I studied philosophy as a Jesuit and was fascinated by the mind and the power of thinking to transform lives.  I learned that if we want to change our life, we have to change the way we think.

I co-wrote a book (Smart Questions: Learn to Ask the Right Question to Get Powerful Results) with Dr. Gerald Nadler, who is a great pioneer in the field of thinking and a good friend.  He has studied people who get results consistently, and how they go about thinking.  His work was a key to helping me become a competent management consultant and leadership coach.

I learned about hypnosis about thirty-five years ago and have always been fascinated by it.  I have practiced self-hypnosis actively for the past twenty years.  The practice has made a huge difference in my personal, professional, and sporting life.  I attribute much of my success in golf, having taken it up later in life, to the fact that I work extensively on the mental side of the game, using hypnosis.

I studied hypnosis professionally and am a certified hypnotist, and certified instructor by the National Guild of Hypnotists.  Using hypnosis, and working with the subconscious mind is the most interesting and powerful thing I have done in my career and life. I love sharing the ideas and practices that have helped me and my clients.
